First Presbyterian Church

Youth Group News Page

Welcome to the Youth News page of First Presbyterian Church.  Past activities are listed below, in order that we might share the past experiences of our youth with others.

Our Youth Group usually meets on Sunday afternoons from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.  We may meet at the church or someone’s home.  Either check this page, or find out while you’re in Sunday School (hint, hint).  We usually have food and will always have a short message for Christ.

Remember, you must make prior arrangements for transportation to and from Youth Group, either with your parents or a friend.  You might be able to get a ride with a youth leader, if you have gas money (just kidding).

If you are interested in sharing your home, or any youth activity ideas, please contact:

            David Jahnke, at 906-9624

Come and join our youth group and bring your friends!

First of all, congratulations to Jenna and Clayton Johnson and Jacquelyn Clark who made it to the state swimming competition by placing first or second in regionals. We are all very proud of you for your hard work and sportsmanship.  Charlie Fox and I also participated in a bowl-a-thon for Youth City, an organization that houses and cares for displaced teens in the area.  Around $8000 was raised to provide a caring environment and sustenance to kids in the midst of difficulties and the temptations which accompany such times.

Thursday and Friday, our youth will have gathered with a San Antonio youth group for worship, fellowship and mission work. We will be working on a storage shed at Mission 911, established by fellow Presbyterian Tony Reyes.  In the fall, we will officially welcome four new 6th graders to our youth group with a party in a (hopefully) redecorated third floor youth room.  God bless our kids and young ladies as they soon begin another school year.  And may grace and peace abound in the hearts of every young and young-at-heart child of God at First Pres.

Peace out,

David

YOUTH BOAT TRIP : SUNDAY, April 25th

First of all, my apologies to you adults who may have been misled by our previous  Tower Time promotion.  This is a Mission Presbytery youth cluster event, rather than a church event.  We will be looking for sponsors, however, so if any of you really had your heart set on going, contact me ASAP!  Youth will be touring the bay for around three hours while eating, socializing, taking in the sights, playing games and worshiping.  We will meet at the church at around 3:45 p.m. to go down to the People's T-Head where we will board the H.C. Petry for a 4:30 p.m. departure.

Peace out,

David
